Hannah Gadsby – Donkey

Deeply candid with its exposed vulnerability, Hannah Gadsby’s current show, “Donkey”, features her usual self-deprecation and warm personal touch.

Lurching between measured and scattered, the show takes us on a journey of self-awareness and discovery as Hannah reveals the manner in which life begins to make sense.

Brisbane’s final performance, early Sunday evening, the audience were low energy, but deeply engaged to the end: defying her self-consciousness, and pushing the boundaries of her inhibitions leads us to the finale as Hannah joins Gladys Knight as an ersatz Pip on that Midnight Train to Georgia; vulnerable, imperfect, and owning it.¶

As half of the team behind 101projects101days.com, I am a serial starter of things, beginner of projects. I work in bits and in bytes, in words and paragraphs; I work in wood, metal, and paper, in fabric and in leather; I work in fits and in starts. Most of all I work intermittently and inconsistently.
